Dear Zante Plaza Hotels Community,
We'd like to update you on recent legislation affecting tourist accommodations in Zakynthos. The new law introduces changes, replacing the current stayover tax with a "climate crisis resilience charge." This means that guests staying in Greek Hotels, will be required to apply a daily scaled fee, ranging from 1.5 to 10 euros during March to October 2024 and 0.5 to 4 euros from November to February.
As our Hotels operate during the summer the fees apply are the following:
5 STAR HOTELS: €10 EURO PER ROOM PER NIGHT
4 STAR HOTELS: €7 EURO PER ROOM PER NIGHT
3 STAR HOTELS: €3 EURO PER ROOM PER NIGHT
1 OR 2 STAR HOTELS / APARTMENTS: €1,5 EURO PER ROOM PER NIGHT
Applicable to all forms of tourist accommodation, including hotels, rooms, villas, and Airbnbs, the revenue generated from this charge will contribute to a specially created emergency fund for natural disasters.
Guests should pay the tax at the reception during the check in process upon arrival.
